The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions. If you are new to meditation and want to give it a try, please come join us. Or if you would like to reinforce your practice you will also receive helpful tips from the day.

Adam Johnson

Adam is a sincere Kadampa practitioner who has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism since 2004.  Before moving to Asheville early in 2017, he studied for many years at Kadampa Meditation Center Canada in Toronto and was an active part of the community there.  Most recently, he was a student of Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab in the Teacher Training Program.  He is known for giving clear teachings and using practical examples to help students develop positive minds.  Adam is an electrical engineer and is excited to be part of the Asheville community.
