Six Habits to Drop for a Happy Mind: Drop-In Meditation Series in Greenville, SC

$10 or $5 students/seniors

Buddha described how to identify and remove our six most disturbing habits of mind, which he called “the six root delusions”. Just as a tree grows and branches from its root, all our dissatisfaction, discomfort, and problems branch from these six minds. By uprooting these minds, we can prevent all the problems arise from them and experience extraordinary mental peace.

About the Class

These classes are perfect for beginners or for those wishing to deepen their meditation practice. Classes self contained and are on a drop in basis, so there is no need to register in advance or attend the entire series. Each class includes a relaxing guided meditation and short talk on how to maintain a peaceful mind. Chairs are provided and their are meditation cushions for those who wish to sit on the floor.

Nov 26 – Dropping harmful doubts
Dec 3 – No class due to away retreat at Unicoi State Park

Dec 11 – Dropping the ego (pt 1)
Dec 18 – Dropping the ego (pt 2)

About the Teacher

SharonSharon Lovich has been practicing meditation and Kadampa Buddhism since 2003 and is the principal teacher for Kadampa Buddhism in Asheville. Before Sharon moved to Asheville in 2011, she volunteered as the Education Program Coordinator for several years at the internationally renowned world peace temple for meditation and modern Buddhism,  Kadampa Meditation Center New York.  There she received teachings and guidance directly from our General Spiritual Director, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, guided retreats, and taught classes.  She has engaged in numerous focused meditation retreats and is known for teaching others how to develop a peaceful mind with great skill, lightness, and humor. Today, Sharon is a part of the Special Teacher Training Program and teaches numerous meditation classes and retreats in Asheville. Sharon and her husband have one son.

$10 per class, or $50 for 6 week series. (free for Monthly Members)

Meditation is a powerful method to improve our human nature and qualities through developing the capacity of our mind. Through developing our own mind we connect to our pure potential for peace and happiness. Equipping  ourself with an inner tool kit will give us the confidence to use meditation skillfully in our daily life to solve our own problems and become our own friend. Each class will consist of a guided meditation, a talk and discussion. Chairs are provided and everyone is welcome.
