Overcoming the Illusion of Loneliness
with Special Guest Teacher Kadam Lucy James
We often feel as if we are isolated individuals and suffer from loneliness, yearning to feel a sense of connection with others. In this course we will enjoy talks and meditations that explore the illusory perception of ourself as separate from others, for in truth we are all naturally and profoundly interconnected. By learning to understand and feel this connection we can transform our outlook on life, heal our relationships, and allow a natural closeness and authentic love for others to arise. (This course is also ideal for anyone who has ever fallen madly in love or been through a painful breakup!) Everyone is welcome!
About the Teacher
Kadam Lucy James is a close disciple of the founder of our Buddhist tradition, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, having first met him in 1981 and worked closely with him.
One of the senior teachers of Kadampa Buddhism, Kadam Lucy has taught extensively in England, Florida, and San Francisco, and helped set up many thriving Buddhist meditation centers in the past 35 years. Kadam Lucy is now the Resident Teacher at KMC Colorado. She is regularly invited to teach courses around the United States and United Kingdom due to her skill in presenting both simple and profound subjects with great clarity.
Her main job for many years was also to help edit and produce Geshe Kelsang’s books. Until quite recently, she was on a long meditation retreat.
Kadam Lucy is appreciated for her deep experience, clear mind, and inspiring yet practical presentation of Buddha’s teachings and meditations, showing how to make these immediately effective in our modern daily lives.
