About this event
Sometimes life can become overwhelming with difficult and turbulent events. At such times, peace can feel far away. However, just as the center of a hurricane is perfectly still, through meditation we can learn to build a place of peace within. From this inner space, we can make good decisions that foster harmony and happiness for ourselves and others. Join us in this practical mini-course to learn simple and effective meditations for becoming more peaceful and at ease in everyday life. Includes guided meditation, a talk and time for Q&A.
Sue first found Meditation and Modern Buddhism in 2009 in Atlanta, GA when she wandered into the World Peace Café. She attended classes at Kadampa Meditation Center GA, studied on their Foundation Program and Teacher Training program which brought her depth of understanding to a deeper level. Sue also volunteered in various capacities. Upon retirement from her career in healthcare, Sue relocated to Western, NC, where she enjoys gardening, and creating a peaceful place for birds, bees, butterflies and any other critters that come around. She is also the author of a picture book ‘Gus’s Fortunate Misfortune”, and she has 3 adult children, 3 Grandchildren and lives with her partner in Old Fort, NC.
