Venerable Geshe-la’s Birthday Celebration

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche’s  Birthday Celebration

In person and Online

On June 4, Turning the Wheel of Dharma day, the anniversary of Buddha’s first teaching in this world. We celebrate the 90th birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. We remember every day the great kindness of Venerble Geshe-la, our Root Guru & Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition – but on this auspicious day, with minds of rejoicing and gratitude, we will engage in the prayers Offering to the Spiritual Guide for long life. On June 5, we will offer Venerable Geshe-la our faith through using the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples and collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a one day retreat. There will be three sessions of retreat using the sadhana The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra and the special request prayer.  Both events are open to either attend in person at the Je Tsongkhapa Kadampa Buddhist Center where it will be streamed live from Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia or will be available for you to stream from your home on-line. No replays will be available for these events.
