There is no more revolutionary insight than that of emptiness, Buddha’s explanation of the true nature of reality. It is because of our misunderstanding of reality and the nature of our self, that we get stuck in the negative views of ourself and others. Therefore, understanding how the self actually exists frees us from suffering and liberates us to become the joyful and fulfilled person we wish to be.
The benefits of attending this retreat include:
Learn to stop identifying with the limited self you think you are
Experience inner freedom
Gain insight into how your mind creates your self and your world
Is this retreat right for me?
This retreat is perfect for both beginners and seasoned practitioners. Everyone will have the chance to practice at whatever level you are at, whether that is discovering for the first time an authentic inner experience, or stabilizing deeper realizations of a limitless potential that arises naturally from within your own mind.
Besides guided meditations, what should I expect?
Attend as many sessions as you wish as it’s going to be a weekend of abundant happiness and joy! Sessions include inspiring teachings, followed by guided meditations in which you begin to put the teaching into practice. Between sessions, there will be ample time to enjoy the lovely walking trails, and outdoor sitting places where you can pause for contemplation and meditation in the stillness and beauty of this pristine natural environment. Weather permitting, on Saturday afternoon we will guide a walking meditation.
American Buddhist monk and resident teacher of KMC Georgia, Gen Kelsang Mondrub and Sharon Lovich Resident Teacher of Je Tsongkhapa Kadampa Buddhist Center, Asheville, NC, co-lead this retreat.
