One of Buddha’s most meaningful gifts to us is his teachings on impermanence, where he explains how everything is in a constant state of change, never remaining even for an instant. Impermanence is a fascinating doorway into, understanding that nothing exists in the fixed and solid way it appears. This includes all of our problems. As we gain experience of the simple yet profound truth of impermanence, we come to realize that we never need to get hung up on anything ever again. It all comes and it all goes. We gain the wisdom to let go. This is true freedom.

Empathy is the ability to share another persons' thoughts and feelings, and see things from their point of view. When we lack empathy we only see things from our own point of view, and this leads to disharmony and division. We need to cultivate empathy so that we can relate to others from the heart and erode feelings of disconnection and 'otherness'
Through training in a special meditation practice called 'exchanging self with others' we can begin to develop a profound type of empathy and from that ground, grow the altruistic minds of universal love and compassion.
